I had the opportunity to meet with a good friend of mine today. I try to meet with two to three mentors per week to pick their brains. Today we talked through the importance of training leaders to be informed and equipped to raise up other leaders. We were specifically talking about doing this in the context of church leadership.
As I was talking to him, I was asking myself if I was training the people around me to teach and lead others. I realized that often times, I think I am communicating enough with my leaders when really, I am not communicating as well as I think. I think it is so easy to assume that the people around us are just automatically on the same page as us.
I am focused on getting better at over-communicating important information to my leaders. I want my leaders to succeed which means that I, as their leader, must put in the extra work to give them the tools to do so.
What areas can you, as a leader, grow?
I would love to hear your thoughts in the comment section below.
